Women readers say that PARALLEL LIVES has helped them discover their own unique voices. I started the blog as a place to comment about the process of learning to speak up for oneself and the collective good. The blog conveys the same underlying theme of PARALLEL LIVES:
Forget your soul mate.
Use this time to become that which you wish to attract.

MY MOTIVATION
In PARALLEL LIVES, a novel I recently finished, April begins the story invisible, misinformed, and silent. Billy starts out by using words of power to threaten, bully, ridicule, and demean others. Throughout the story these two characters are forced to confront their relationship to the spoken word as they endure emotional and physical pain.
In the end, April moves from silence to speech, and in the process changes from object to the subject of a liberated voice. Billy's overuse of his verbal power causes the death of his bedst friend, after which he questions, explores, and develops a new identity through his voice.
A writer by night, by day I help other writers achieve their dreams of completing a worthy project.
During a plot consultation, writers recount the scenes and events, ideas and vision for their stories. Throughout the process, I whisper plot parameters, offer tips on theme and nuance, character and depth, tricks for layering and pacing, all with the hope of reawakening in writers the rhythm of the Universal Story form.
Stories reflect the heartbeat of the universe. Writers and readers, all of us, pulse to this universal rhythm.
I practice with the belief that the more integrated plot in writers' bodies and story structure in reader's psyches, the more satisfying the act of writing and joyful the act of reading.
When time permits, I use this space to unwind after plot consultations. My hope is that the exploration of universal truths inspires you.
My clients include best-selling authors, New York editors, and Hollywood movie directors. I can help you, too, with plot.
